Left Behinds Book by Gina DeGideo

In this workshop, teaching artist, Gina DeGideo will guide participants through design, layout, and creation of their own handmade, hardcover accordion book. This workshop is a great introduction to bookmaking, in particular, for 2D artists looking for a way to exhibit their work in a tangible or 3D form. The book size will be a 5x5 format and all materials will be supplied. You must pre-register below to attend!

You’ve edited a fantastic body of images and are ready to share it with the world. Discover the best presentation styles to finalize your portfolio of work. Whether you are preparing prints for a portfolio-viewing, exhibition, to make a book, or simply to complete a personal portfolio project, we’ll cover a range of printing and presentation styles important to best exhibiting your two-dimensional artwork.

This three-day seminar offers a peer-based group of dedicated participants to discuss printing and display methods for your specific art. You will learn new techniques for matting, framing, and book-forms to complete the perfect presentation for your final portfolio or body of work. Leave this seminar with the tools to present your finished artwork.

This seminar is a great follow-on to Writing About Your Art, and 2D artists of every experience level with a body of work are encouraged to register.

You have edited down a body of work and are ready to share it. Now learn how to enhance your visual art with supporting text that helps others to effectively engage. The written word is an extremely important component to creating a powerful body of work, whether it is an artist statement, book text, or a creative writing piece that accompanies your visual art.

No matter your writing experience, this three-session seminar will help you open the doors to creatively writing about your visual work. In this peer-based group, with artists and writers of all levels, you will learn new writing techniques and finalize a written piece to accompany a visual arts project of each participant’s choosing.

This seminar is a great precursor to Presentation is Key. Artists of every media and experience level are encouraged to register.

You’ve been photographing what engages you, maybe with an intended project and maybe not, now what? Find your creative vision as you work with a peer group of photographers and artists to distill your images and ideas into a cohesive body of work.

This three-session seminar guides you through narrowing a bulk of images to a concise portfolio or body of work with the help of a dedicated group. Whether you are building a photo book, preparing for a portfolio review, or just finalizing a series of images, you will leave this seminar prepared to complete your body of work.

Participants must already have a large group of at least thirty 2-dimensional works ready to be edited.
